Job description

Job Title: Section Engineer - Earthworks
Location: Northampton

We are seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join our Earthworks team. This position will be based in the Greatworth to Southam Area. The Section Engineer manages junior engineers and assists the Sub Agent in construction operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the site engineering team from construction to project close-out.
• Manage site setting-out activities and oversee the performance and development of Site Engineers.
• Assist with temporary works design schemes and provide technical solutions to site challenges.
• Allocate labour, plant, and materials in coordination with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman.
• Monitor and coordinate subcontractors to ensure work is completed to contractual and quality standards.
• Ensure the engineering team has the latest designs, resources, and project information.
• Assist with producing programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• HNC/Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Working towards professional membership (e.g., ICE).
• Proven site engineering experience with construction supervision skills.
• Experience in earthworks (preferably)
• Full UK driving licence and own transport (site locations may be remote).

Essential Certifications:

• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• CSCS (White, White-Yellow, Red - Experienced, Black - Manager, or Gold - Supervisor).
