Job description

The Role:

We are seeking a Highways Design Engineer with consulting experience in Section 278/38 projects. You will be responsible for preparing detailed designs, feasibility studies, and scheme reports, as well as managing project budgets, costings, and stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure scheme designs comply with specifications, regulations, and project timelines.
• Work to ensure compliance with CDM and Health & Safety regulations.
• Assess environmental impacts in collaboration with colleagues.
• Manage client, stakeholder, and third-party relationships.
• Coordinate design work across multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members.

Requirements:

• Experience in Section 278/38 design and management.
• Strong knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual for Streets.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D for highways design.
