Job description
Our integrated design and build client in the Water sector is seeking a Contracts Manager based out of Reading working on Thames Water projects on a permanent basis with hybrid working.
Our client operates across water, energy and environment sectors throughout the UK. With an annual turnover surpassing £500 million, they are a leader within the industry.
As a Contracts Manager you will be responsible for a portfolio of schemes that enhance our environment and communities - from improving flood defences, to upgrading water treatment works and providing nature-based solutions that improve biodiversity.
You will be a great communicator, motivators & leader, with a wealth of technical knowledge, and have full ownership of the whole process from inception to handover. Our client has a full order book of work for AMP8 on Thames Water and across the Thames Valley region through to 2030, covering infra and non infra projects.
You will need to be based in the Thames Valley region ideally - hybrid working will be available but candidates must be commutable to Reading.
Responsibilities
- Instilling the company culture and driving consistency across a number of schemes for the organisation
- Leading a team of site managers to ensure successful execution of the programme
- Improving awareness, compliance and performance with company standards & processes
- Facilitating the growth and development of the team
- Overall responsibility for commercial and programme delivery whilst ensuring client satisfaction
Skills/experience/qualifications
- CSCS, SSSTS/ SMSTS
- HNC / Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- Understand civil engineering principles and practices
- Knowledge of NEC3 or 4
- Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
