Job description

Job Opportunity: Repairs Tester (Mechanical Repairs Technician)
Location: Titchfield
Contract: PAYE Contract, initially until December 2025, with the potential for extension

Core Hours: 37 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:15pm
Friday: 7:30am - 11:30am

Holiday: 33 days paid holiday or have the monetary amount in your pay each week!

First 12 weeks rates:

  • Core days: £18.09p/h PAYE or £20.72 including holiday pay
  • Overtime over 37hrs: £27.13p/h PAYE or £31.07 including holiday pay
  • Sundays: £36.17 PAYE or £41.43 including holiday pay


After 12 weeks rates:

  • Core days: £18.65p/h PAYE or £21.35 including holiday pay
  • Overtime over 37hrs: £27.95p/h PAYE or £32.02 including holiday pay
  • Sundays: £37.27 PAYE or £42.69 including holiday pay


Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK, adhering to ITAR restrictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough testing, fault diagnosis, and validation of repaired mechanical, electrical, and pump units.
  • Perform disassembly and assembly processes, ensuring components meet strict quality standards.
  • Enhance turnaround times for critical civil and military contract units through efficient testing and repair procedures.
  • Utilize test rigs, measurement tools, and diagnostic equipment to assess the functionality of repaired units.
  • Accurately record and analyze test results, identifying trends or recurring issues to aid in process improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safe working practices and site regulations.
  • Work closely with engineers and team members to improve testing accuracy, reduce costs, and meet delivery targets.
  • Adapt to evolving testing methods and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills in diagnosing faults.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in testing and fault diagnosis within the aerospace sector or a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical testing procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze SPC data collection and testing results.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with machining and component adjustments.
  • BTEC Level 2/3 in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar environment. City and Guilds/National Certificate in an engineering discipline is advantageous.
  • Strong mechanical background with a focus on testing and diagnostics.
