Integration Trials & Test Script Engineer - Servers
Hybrid (Corsham - approx. 2 days per week)
SC Clearance, UK Nationals Only
Up to £760/day Inside IR35

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Integration Trials & Test Script Engineer - Servers to support the development and execution of test scripts for the acceptance testing of a mission-critical IT system. The role involves working closely with Project Test Managers and the IT&T team to develop, modify, and execute test scripts for Core/Hub Networks, ensuring compliance with System Test Plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, and execute test scripts for Core/Hub Networks.

  • Support formal and informal testing aligned with the System Test Plan.

  • Perform functional, non-functional, and regression testing to validate system performance.

  • Install and configure Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2/2016 core roles and features.

  • Document test procedures, write release notes, and maintain testing evidence.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, report, and track defects.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in test documentation (test plans, scripts, defect reports, and evidence collection).

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Server 2012R2/2016 technologies, including AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Exchange, SQL, and Skype for Business.

  • Familiarity with virtualisation technologies (e.g., VDI, multi-tenancy).

  • Experience working with military IS systems (NATO FAS, UK Base Services, MOD Business applications).

  • Knowledge of PKI integration and Defence PKI.

  • Proficiency in Confluence and Jira, with experience in Agile methodologies.

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing project timelines and prioritise workload effectively.

  • SC Clearance is required

Desirable Qualifications

  • MCSE/MCSA Server 2012R2 certification.

  • VMware VCP certification.
