Job description
Our client in the engineering and construction sector, is seeking a Project Manager to join their dynamic team at Hinkley Point C (HPC), one of the most significant nuclear new build projects in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and coordinating a programme of work(s) for the application of coating systems in accordance with the client's design requirements, across allocated buildings at the HPC site.
- Reporting progress and schedule adherence against programme demands whilst managing multiple interfaces of others works.
- Overseeing a team of coatings operatives as part of an integrated project management team, including the companies and the specialist sub-contractor.
- Ensuring works on-site are carried out safely with due regard to the protection of the workforce, public, and the environment.
- Evaluating and preparing Early Warnings notices to project controls and describing mitigating measures.
- Managing and coordinating subcontractors' works and documentation.
- Preparing and reviewing Method Statements and ITPs, coordinating the materials approvals process.
- Producing weekly reports on site progress and complying with the companies Environmental Management Plan.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in project management within the construction sector; experience in the nuclear sector is advantageous.
- Technical knowledge and understanding of coating systems application, although experience in specialist coatings is desirable but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage own time effectively.
- Proficiency in creating managerial reports, emails, and spreadsheets.
- Supervisory CSCS Card (Black) holder.
- Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and legislation.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, enabling effective reporting at management level.
Desirable Skills:
- Membership of an appropriate professional body.
- Experience in NEC contracts.
- Industrial coatings experience.
- Excellent presentation and negotiating skills.
