Job Title Geotechnical Engineer
Location Aberdeen, Scotland

Salary £50 000 - £60 000 per annum
Work Opportunity Permanent

What will I be doing?

  • You'll take the lead on geotechnical site investigations, including borehole drilling, sampling, in-situ testing, and supporting complex ground investigations with smart technical solutions.
  • From technical reports and feasibility studies to burial assessments, you'll be hands-on in preparing and reviewing critical project documents-while also using tools like gINT for geotechnical analyses and numerical modelling.
  • You'll be a key voice in the room-leading technical meetings and working closely with clients, contractors, and regulators, while also mentoring junior engineers and supervising offshore teams, subcontractors, and lab techs.
  • You'll shape risk mitigation strategies, support project planning, budgeting, and month-end reporting, and contribute to tenders, proposals, and innovative solutions that move the project forward.
  • With a strong focus on HSEQ, you'll help promote best practices, identify and mitigate risks, review project documentation with the HSEQ team, and ensure key lessons are captured and shared.

What do I need to succeed?

  • You've got a solid foundation in geology particularly soil and rock mechanics, drilling, and foundation engineering and you know how to apply it where it really counts.
  • You're confident in geotechnical/civil engineering design, modelling, and making sense of complex data bringing clarity to even the most challenging ground conditions.
  • Tools like gINT, PLAXIS, and GeoStudio are second nature to you, helping you deliver accurate, efficient, and reliable results.
  • Whether juggling multiple projects or leading one from start to finish, your project management and multitasking skills keep everything on track.
  • You bring strong communication, organizational, and mentoring skills to the table, along with the commercial awareness to understand how your work impacts the bottom line.
