Job description
Our client, a prominent organisation within the defence sector, is seeking a talented Radiographer (Industrial - Welds) to join their Weapon Systems UK team for a contract role in Sheffield. This is a crucial position that plays a key part in ensuring the integrity and quality of critical welds on defence equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform radiographic inspections on welds and other components according to defined standards and procedures.
- Interpret and evaluate radiographic images to ensure compliance with safety and quality specifications.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation of inspections.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address and rectify any identified issues.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain and calibrate radiography equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Provide technical support and training to team members as required.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in industrial radiography, particularly with welds.
- Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques and inspection methodologies.
- Ability to interpret radiographic images accurately and identify defects.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements in the defence sector.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in radiography.
Opportunity:
This role involves working closely with our client's team in Sheffield on a significant defence programme, with a focus on the M777. You will start on BPSS and be part of a dedicated team working four days a week, Monday to Thursday.
