Senior Planning Consultant
The Role
We're looking for a talented and driven Senior Planning Consultant to join our growing team. In this role, you'll work across a range of exciting projects-supporting senior colleagues and directors on major developments, while also managing your own portfolio of small to mid-sized planning applications. You'll play a key role in providing strategic advice to clients, preparing high-quality reports and submissions, and helping to guide the direction of planning work within the team.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supporting senior team members and directors on complex and high-profile projects
- Managing and delivering small to medium-scale planning applications independently
- Conducting site research, policy reviews, and development potential appraisals
- Preparing planning appraisals, reports, applications, and related documentation
- Engaging with planning officers, statutory consultees, stakeholders, and the public
- Building strong relationships with clients, collaborators, and consultants
- Generating creative and practical solutions to planning challenges
- Taking financial responsibility for your own projects-from inception to completion
- Staying up to date with planning policy, legislation, and best practice
- Representing the company at external meetings, events, and presentations
About You
- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant planning or related discipline
- 5-10 years of experience in planning-either in the private or public sector
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation, policy, and application processes
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills
- A collaborative, problem-solving mindset and a sharp attention to detail
- Creative thinker with the ability to develop tailored planning strategies
- Passionate about delivering high-quality work and outstanding client service
