The Role

We're looking for a talented and driven Senior Planning Consultant to join our growing team. In this role, you'll work across a range of exciting projects-supporting senior colleagues and directors on major developments, while also managing your own portfolio of small to mid-sized planning applications. You'll play a key role in providing strategic advice to clients, preparing high-quality reports and submissions, and helping to guide the direction of planning work within the team.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting senior team members and directors on complex and high-profile projects
  • Managing and delivering small to medium-scale planning applications independently
  • Conducting site research, policy reviews, and development potential appraisals
  • Preparing planning appraisals, reports, applications, and related documentation
  • Engaging with planning officers, statutory consultees, stakeholders, and the public
  • Building strong relationships with clients, collaborators, and consultants
  • Generating creative and practical solutions to planning challenges
  • Taking financial responsibility for your own projects-from inception to completion
  • Staying up to date with planning policy, legislation, and best practice
  • Representing the company at external meetings, events, and presentations

About You

  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant planning or related discipline
  • 5-10 years of experience in planning-either in the private or public sector
  • Strong knowledge of planning legislation, policy, and application processes
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • A collaborative, problem-solving mindset and a sharp attention to detail
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop tailored planning strategies
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality work and outstanding client service

Why Join Us

  • We offer more than just a job-we offer a chance to grow, contribute, and make a real impact.
  • Competitive salary and performance-based annual bonuses
  • Pension contributions and private healthcare
  • Full support for professional development, including payment of professional fees
  • Flexible working options-split your time between home and our offices.
  • A supportive and social working culture with regular team events
  • A strong commitment to work-life balance and employee wellbeing.
  • Employee Ownership Trust status-giving you a voice in the business and access to tax-free bonuses

This is a fantastic opportunity to advance your planning career, working on a diverse range of projects for high-profile clients, alongside a respected and experienced team.
