Job description

Our client, is currently seeking a DM Principal Planning Officer. This is a temporary opportunity is offering a 12-month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and managing strategic development sites
• Providing expert advice on development management and town planning matters
• Leading on the preparation and assessment of complex planning applications
• Ensuring compliance with planning regulations and policies
• Collaborating with internal teams, external stakeholders, and the community
• Preparing detailed reports and presentations for council and committee meetings
• Attending and representing the council at public and stakeholder meetings
• Mentoring and guiding junior planning officers

Job Requirements:

• Experience in development management and town planning
• Thorough understanding of planning regulations and policies
• Ability to manage and assess complex planning applications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Full driving licence
• Membership of the RTPI (or eligibility for membership) is desirable
• Capability to work effectively within a team and independently
