Our client, a leading firm in the HTP sector, is currently seeking a Director of Town Planning to join their team in Derby. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to command and shape the future of urban development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing town planning and development management activities
• Leading and managing a team of planning professionals
• Developing and implementing strategic planning policies and initiatives
• Engaging with stakeholders, including local authorities, developers, and the public
• Providing expert advice on planning applications and development proposals
• Monitoring and guiding the progress of planning projects to ensure timely delivery
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
• Representing the organisation at public inquiries and planning appeals

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in town planning and development management
• Strong understanding of planning policies, regulations, and urban development processes
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Proven ability to engage and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Relevant degree in town planning, urban planning, or a related field
• Chartered membership of a recognised planning institute (e.g., RTPI) is desirable
