Job description
Our client, a leading company in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support and improve manufacturing methods for aerospace components and assemblies.
Rates:
Paying up to £35P/h PAYE + Holiday Pay OR £40.09inc hol pay (This is equivalent to £46.50 UMB)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods for aerospace components and assemblies.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient production.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to optimise manufacturability and maintain compliance with aerospace standards.
- Review, select, and implement appropriate tooling, fixturing, and equipment.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, including program changes and obsolete tooling, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum quality.
- Support the MRB (Material Review Board) process by reviewing, investigating, and salvaging non-conforming product.
- Ensure all processes adhere to AS9100 and other regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related discipline) OR experience in a manufacturing engineering role within the aerospace sector.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes such as machining, additive manufacturing, and assembly.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and manufacturing systems.
- Experience with turning machines and processes.
Desirable:
- Experience with AS9100 quality systems and NADCAP special processes.
- Experience working with thin-walled castings and forgings.
- Experience in programming Fanuc based code.
