Location: Across the Southern Water region

Job Type: Full-Time

Rate: Competitive (based on experience)

On-Call Rota Participation Required

Our client is currently seeking a General Civils Operative to join our growing team, supporting essential drainage works across the Southern Water region. This is a hands-on, field-based role ideal for someone with groundwork or utility experience who takes pride in working safely and delivering quality results.

What You'll Be Doing

• Undertaking civils work including dig-down repairs, manhole cover rebuilds, and interceptor installs/removals

• Receiving instructions from the Civils Manager or Supervisor and carrying them out effectively

• Conducting and briefing daily POWRA (Point of Work Risk Assessments) and ensuring acknowledgment from all team members and site visitors

• Using hand-held devices to log job information accurately

• Completing all paperwork clearly and on time

• Performing daily vehicle checks and keeping company vehicles clean and roadworthy

• Ensuring all site personnel and visitors wear the required PPE at all times

• Following company procedures and safe systems of work (SSWR)

• Participating in a call-out rota

• Carrying out other relevant duties as required by the business

Required Experience & Skills

• Groundworks or utility experience

• Confident using tools and machinery relevant to drainage/civils work

---

Essential Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence

• Streetworks (NRSWA)

• CSCS Card

• Cat & Genny trained

Desirable Qualifications

• Excavator ticket

• Deep excavation experience

• Abrasive wheels

• Confined space training
