Job description

This is a pivotal leadership role, where you'll oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle. From initial planning to execution, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and fully aligned with HS2's uncompromising standards on safety, quality, and performance.

💼 What You'll Be Doing:

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Drive project plans with precision, aiming to deliver 90%+ of milestones on schedule.

• Keep budgets tight, maintaining cost performance within 5% of forecasts.

• Lead multidisciplinary teams and manage resources to maximise efficiency and impact.

Risk & Issue Management

• Proactively identify and mitigate risks, targeting 85% proactive mitigation success.

• Keep the risk register live, accurate, and a core part of project governance.

Change Control & Quality Assurance

• Oversee structured change management, ensuring 95% of changes are reviewed and resolved within SLA.

• Uphold the highest quality standards, limiting Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to fewer than 2 per quarter.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Be the face of the project to HS2, contractors, and suppliers.

• Deliver clear, timely reporting to senior leaders and regulators.

• Ensure 80%+ stakeholder satisfaction through strong communication and relationship management.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Champion a safety-first culture, targeting a RIFR of ≤1.5.

• Integrate sustainable practices in every phase of project delivery.

• A proven track record delivering complex rail, infrastructure, or engineering projects.

• Deep expertise in Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS) and project governance.

• Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
