Job description

Our client, a prominent player in the Highways sector, is currently seeking a Deputy Engineering Manager to join their dynamic team in Brackley on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with considerable experience in technical support, site management, and design, who is looking to contribute to large civil infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing technical support and guidance to engineering teams
• Overseeing site management activities and ensuring adherence to project specifications
• Collaborating with designers to develop and review engineering plans
• Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Technical Lead to ensure project milestones are met
• Managing and mentoring a team, including consultants and assistant engineering managers
• Conducting site visits and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
• Reviewing and approving technical documents and drawings
• Facilitating communication between various stakeholders to ensure project success

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in technical support, site management, and design
• Background in large infrastructure projects, with a strong emphasis on civil infrastructure
• Ability to provide clear and effective technical guidance
• Exceptional organisational and leadership skills
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and industry standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to be onsite 5 days a week, with potential flexibility for remote work on Fridays
• Relevant engineering qualifications
