Job description

Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a highly skilled Project Planner to join their team on a contract basis. The position is designated for a period of 6 months, with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role, subject to performance. This is an opportunity to work within a highly complex and rewarding environment, playing a vital part in the planning and execution of naval shipbuilding projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining project schedules using P6 and/or MSP software
• Ensuring alignment of project timelines with overall programme objectives
• Monitoring project progress and implementing adjustments as necessary
• Collaborating with engineering teams to achieve project milestones
• Providing detailed reports and updates to stakeholders
• Participating in onsite meetings for 1-2 days per week
• Applying best practices in project planning within the defence sector
• Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies

Job Requirements:

• Expertise in project planning and scheduling, particularly in the context of large, complex programmes
• Proficiency with P6 and/or MSP software
• Experience in the shipbuilding industry or similar complex environments
• Ability to work effectively within a team-based, collaborative setting
• Exceptional communication and organisational skills
• Engineering background, ideally within naval or defence sectors
