Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Senior Leadership Team to oversee the consultancy function
• Assisting in the development of the Building Control Consultancy business with excellent service delivery
• Working towards demonstrating competence as a Principal Designer by recording evidence as specified within PAS8670
• Providing advice on compliance with technical and procedural aspects within the Building Regulations
• Ensuring standards and quality are maintained, and procedures adhered to in respect of performance and quality standards across the business
• Maintaining relationships with internal staff, developers, and clients by offering technical advice and guidance
• Consulting with related companies on Building Regulation technical matters and preparing technical training
• Supporting the Business Development team in offering bespoke quotes for consultancy projects
• Identifying and communicating legislative and technical changes to Building Regulations to various business functions
• Managing and prioritising your own diary and attending internal and external meetings and events as required.

Job Requirements:

• Qualified Surveyor (MRICS, MCABE, MCIOB, or similar) with relevant experience is preferred
• Competence in design team management
• Understanding of duties and compliance requirements for Principal Designers and other duty holders
• Ability to assess design work for compliance with the Building Regulations
• Experience in CPD and training records in relevant disciplines
• Knowledge of primary and secondary legislations such as the Building Act, Building Safety Act, and Building Regulations 2010
• Understanding the purpose and scope of technical guidance and standards in building design and construction compliance
• Proficient in interacting with information management systems
• Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with other construction professionals
• Full UK Driving Licence
