Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Senior Leadership Team to oversee the consultancy function
- Assisting in the development of the Building Control Consultancy business with excellent service delivery
- Working towards demonstrating competence as a Principal Designer by recording evidence as specified within PAS8670
- Providing advice on compliance with technical and procedural aspects within the Building Regulations
- Ensuring standards and quality are maintained, and procedures adhered to in respect of performance and quality standards across the business
- Maintaining relationships with internal staff, developers, and clients by offering technical advice and guidance
- Consulting with related companies on Building Regulation technical matters and preparing technical training
- Supporting the Business Development team in offering bespoke quotes for consultancy projects
- Identifying and communicating legislative and technical changes to Building Regulations to various business functions
- Managing and prioritising your own diary and attending internal and external meetings and events as required.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified Surveyor (MRICS, MCABE, MCIOB, or similar) with relevant experience is preferred
- Competence in design team management
- Understanding of duties and compliance requirements for Principal Designers and other duty holders
- Ability to assess design work for compliance with the Building Regulations
- Experience in CPD and training records in relevant disciplines
- Knowledge of primary and secondary legislations such as the Building Act, Building Safety Act, and Building Regulations 2010
- Understanding the purpose and scope of technical guidance and standards in building design and construction compliance
- Proficient in interacting with information management systems
- Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with other construction professionals
- Full UK Driving Licence
