Our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer based in Redditch, is currently seeking an Orbital TIG Welder or a Manual Welder interested in training for orbital welding to join their skilled team.

Job Title: Welder

Location: Redditch

Job Type: Permanent

Working hours: Core hours: Mon-Thurs 07:00-15:45, Fri 07:00-12:00; Flexible shifts: 06:00-14:25 (Fri 06:00-11:00) or 08:00-17:00 (Fri 08:00-13:00).

Pay Structure Outlined below:

  • Base Rate: £16.24 per hour PAYE, with 33 days of holiday on top
  • With Inspection Training (Internal/CSWIP 3.0): £16.47 per hour PAYE, with 33 days of holiday on top
  • Tack Welding & Inspection Duties: £16.69 per hour PAYE, with 33 days of holiday on top

We're recruiting for a skilled Orbital Welder / Manual Welder to join a cutting-edge aerospace facility in Redditch, producing mission-critical components to the highest industry standards.

What You'll Be Working On

As a skilled Welder, you'll help build high-spec aerospace assemblies - from rigid tubes and hose assemblies to V-band couplings, flanges, and ductwork - using advanced materials and precision techniques.

My Key Responsibilities:

  • Welding & Fabrication
    Perform orbital TIG welding and manual tacking on stainless steel, Inconel, and titanium components (¼"-2"), support finishing processes including polishing, post-weld treatment, and packing.
  • Technical Standards & Inspection
    Interpret engineering drawings and aerospace specs; self-inspect using precision tools such as borescopes, shadowgraphs, micrometres, and verniers.
  • Equipment & Continuous Improvement
    Operate and maintain orbital TIG welding equipment; contribute to safety, lean practices, and 5S initiatives.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experienced Manual Welder looking to transition into orbital TIG or
  • Proven Orbital TIG Welder with aerospace or high-integrity experience
  • Strong understanding of aerospace weld standards, inspection, and fabrication
