Job description

CHELTON LIMITED, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Product Quality Engineer for a 12-month contract to join their innovative team. This role focuses on ensuring the highest quality in product design, specifically within the defence industry. The position demands a thorough command of quality engineering methodologies including FMEA, first article inspection, and statistical process control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing and executing product design quality assurance processes
• Running Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential risks
• Conducting first article inspections to validate manufacturing processes
• Implementing and maintaining statistical process control methods
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma principles
• Ensuring products meet all relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues
• Compiling and analysing quality data to support decision-making processes

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in quality engineering within the defence, aerospace or anti-jamming equipment industries
• Strong knowledge of design quality assurance practices and tools
• Expertise in FMEA, first article inspection, and statistical process control
• Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies
• Understanding of ITAR restrictions and compliance requirements
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
