Job Title: B1 Licensed Engineer
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Christchurch

Due to the nature of the role, full Security Clearance (SC) is required before starting on site.

To be eligible, you must:
* Hold or be willing and eligible to obtain SC
* Be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship
* Have lived and worked in the UK continuously for the past 5 years
* Be a sole British national (UK EYES ONLY restriction)

Your Next Engineering Challenge

Matchtech has partnered with a key player in the aerospace MRO sector and is currently recruiting a B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer for a permanent position at their Bournemouth Airport facility.

How You'll Contribute

As a B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you'll take charge of allocated aircraft and equipment maintenance, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, to spec, and in line with Maintenance Manuals and the Company Exposition.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Team Leadership & Support: Lead and support technical staff, prioritise workloads, coordinate schedules, and assist in team development. Step in for the Chief Engineer when required and help drive day-to-day operations.
• Performance, Compliance & Documentation: Oversee accurate, timely completion of maintenance records. Review team performance, provide feedback, and drive improvements in standards, practices, and overall efficiency.
• Delivery, Targets & Stakeholder Focus: Coordinate engineering activities to hit performance targets within budget, while maintaining strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.

The Essentials You'll Need?

• Qualified & Experienced: UK CAA Part 66 Licence with relevant type ratings and company approvals, plus 3+ years' experience in an LAE or equivalent role within base maintenance. (Relevant type training will be provided where required.)
• Technically Strong: In-depth knowledge of base maintenance operations and aviation regulatory requirements.
• Effective Leader & Communicator: Team player with strong communication, influencing, and customer-facing skills. Confident, self-driven, and change ready.
• Professional & Fit for Duty: Committed to organisational values and medically fit for on-site and off-site engineering work.
