Job description

Our client, a leading consultancy in the water sector, is seeking a Senior/Principal Civil Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role focuses on non-infrastructure projects for major water utilities such as Welsh Water, Wessex Water, and Thames Water. The position is based either in Bristol or London.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the design and implementation of civil engineering solutions for non-infrastructure water projects
• Collaborating with stakeholders from major water utilities to ensure project alignment and success
• Developing detailed design plans and specifications in compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Conducting site assessments and feasibility studies to inform project design
• Overseeing the preparation of technical reports and documentation
• Managing project resources and timelines to deliver projects within scope and budget
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies

Job Requirements:

• Experience in civil design engineering within the water sector
• Proficiency in developing and managing designs for non-infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations
• Excellent project management skills, including resource and time management
• Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and reports
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, contract-based environment
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
