Job description

Our client, a prominent player in the Defence and Security sector, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a contract basis in Hillend. This role is situated within the Maritime Services subdivision and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to highly significant defence projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing contract status reports
• Chairing review meetings
• Processing invoice requests
• Reconciling project accounts
• Running financial macros
• Supporting the project accounting manager
• Ensuring data integrity
• Running and analysing financial reports
• Managing financial aspects of 60-70 projects

Job Requirements:

• Experience in finance or accounting within the Defence and Security sector
• Proficiency in preparing and analysing financial reports
• Strong understanding of project reconciliation and data integrity principles
• Ability to run ad-hoc financial macros and handle large volumes of data
• Excellent communication skills for supporting the project accounting manager and chairing review meetings
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Understanding of invoice processing and project status reporting

Contract Details:

• Location: Hillend
• Contract Length: 16 months (until September 2026)
