Job description

An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Design Engineer to join a global engineering business at the forefront of clean mobility technology. This role is focused on the design and development of diesel high-pressure fuel pumps, with hands-on involvement from concept through to manufacturing.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-pressure diesel fuel injection components

• Create 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks

• Use DFMEA and design analysis tools to ensure product robustness

• Interpret simulation and test data to propose design improvements

• Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing and internal teams across the product lifecycle

• Support design reviews and prototype development

✅ Ideal Background

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent experience)

• 5-10 years in a design or product development role

• Strong understanding of GD&T, DFMEA, and precision engineering

• Proficient with SolidWorks CAD

• Clear communicator and confident collaborator across all levels

• Detail-driven and passionate about high-accuracy design work
