Job description
Our client is currently seeking a Senior Surveyor to join their Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs) Team on a contract basis. This role plays a crucial part in delivering essential services to residents and offers flexibility, making it ideal for professionals with a strong background in housing adaptations and local authority work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting home visits to assess and survey properties
- Preparing technical schedules of work, specifications, and scaled drawings using AutoCAD
- Developing tender packages and obtaining quotations from approved contractors
- Coordinating and submitting applications for planning permission, building regulations, and party wall agreements where applicable
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience delivering DFGs
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical drawing preparation
- Strong understanding of planning and building regulations
- Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Previous experience working within a local authority setting is highly desirable
Workload & Flexibility:
- 5-10 surveys per month
- Site visits are required, but the remainder of the work can be completed remotely
- Flexible working pattern available
- You could look to complete your site visits over a couple of days then work remotely for the remainder of the month
