Job description

Our client, a leading firm in the nuclear sector, is currently seeking a Designer to join their team on a contract basis. This role requires SC Clearance and involves supporting the documentation and review of Supplier deliverables for both 4B & 4C designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct documented reviews of Supplier deliverables
• Prepare supplier comment forms and manage the close-out of comments
• Prioritise workload to ensure reviews are completed on time
• Generate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and raise Design Change Notes (DCNs)
• Complete the technical assessment of design changes to ensure Client Design Intent is maintained
• Approve Technical Query (TQ) responses as C&I SQEP Assessor
• Attend Category C design reviews, representing C&I as delegated Technical Authority (TA)
• Liaise with the C&I TA as appropriate for Category B design reviews to avoid project delays
• Review and approve Non-Conformance Notices (NCN) and Concession Request Forms (CRF) relating to C&I
• Support the Certification of Design (CoD) process to ensure suitable documentation
• Participate in supplier coordination meetings as necessary to ensure client requirements are met

Job Requirements:

• SC Clearance is essential
• Experience in the nuclear industry or a related field is highly desirable
• Proficiency in managing supplier deliverables and documentation
• Ability to generate and manage technical assessments, ECRs, and DCNs
• Strong skills in reviewing and implementing design changes
• Ability to work effectively as a Technical Authority (TA) and C&I SQEP Assessor
• Excellent organisational and workload prioritisation abilities
• Strong communication and coordination skills
