Job description

BAE Systems, a prominent player in the Defence sector, is seeking a Tiger Team Lead to join their business unit based in Barrow. This role is critical in supporting the submarine build programme and requires expertise in procurement, buying, and supply chain within the Defence & Security sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading a team to manage the commercial, manufacturing/schedule, and quality performance of key suppliers
• Coordinating with cross-functional teams from ITT development through to contract award
• Developing and implementing procurement strategies to support the submarine build programme
• Negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with Defence and Security regulations
• Managing supplier relationships and performance, addressing any issues that arise
• Ensuring timely delivery of materials and services to support project milestones
• Providing regular reports and updates to senior management on supplier performance and project progress

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain within the Defence sector
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Experience working in a highly regulated environment, ideally within Defence & Security
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
