The Job

Job Summary

The position requires a strong knowledge of Rail System best practices and precedents across all technical arenas necessary for project completion. A strong understanding of standard engineering work-planning, scheduling/estimating, Master Planning, and the ability to independently make judgement calls are required. This position is responsible for the complete life cycle, including Testing & Commissioning and handover.

Responsibility

-Must be knowledgeable of signaling technology for CBTC/PTC systems

-Preparation of the project Master Plan and the ability to support the land acquisition process for alignment, facilities, and construction

-Design work experience within: Civil Infrastructure, Track, and systems; Overhead Line, Signal, Telecomm, Control Center, and mobile signal(on-board) equipment.

-Safety assurance, system assurance, engineering safety and interface control is a Must

-Knowledge of AREMA standards (Civil, Rail, Engineering Safety)

-CENELEC and IEC knowledge as applied to rail, safety and RAMS

-First hand experience in working with Federal Code of Regulations required for safety and security

-NPFA 130 knowledge; for design of infrastructure (Transit System Guideway and Station)

-Permitting and design approvals

-Broad knowledge of Testing & Commissioning and start up and handover to Transit Authority

-Experience supporting T&C

Qualifications

-Bachelor degree from accredited university

-9 years' + Bachelors Degree with experience working in construction or large-scale infrastructure project

-15 year's of experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree

-Minimum 10 years' experience working for major rail projects

-Experience using Requirement Management software

-Working knowledge of US and International Rail and Construction Standards

-Ability to liaise with individuals at every level

-Exposure to BIM (Building Information Modelling)

-Knowledgeable in planning/executing high-value, lump sum turnkey civil projects
