SADC countries include: Angola, Botswana, Congo (DR), Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

As the Business Manager SADC markets cluster, you will be based in Johannesburg and report to the General Manager MEA.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • You will need to be a commercially driven Business Manager with strong Sales Management experience who will be the driving force of the SADC cluster. In the role, you would be responsible for:
  • Successfully growing and managing the Business with P&L responsibility both horizontally and vertically.
  • Leading and developing a sales team through coaching for performance ensuring business goals and business targets are achieved.
  • Driving sales growth across multiple sales channels and multiple platforms through Distributors, Direct Sales and Key Accounts.
  • Providing sales and commercial leadership for the business for various countries, channels and channel partners.
  • Striving to develop a relevant and best in class RTM for products while deploying Value Propositions
  • Stakeholder engagement and collaboration by creating a positive working environment both externally and internally within the sales, marketing, technical, supply chain and business support community.
  • Using customer and market insights to develop and implement innovative business development programs that enable sustainable business growth opportunities to be realized.
  • Generating an outstanding market and competitor's knowledge and regularly provide feedback to the regional marketing team to assist in the development and execution of differentiated, value-based product platforms and campaigns.
  • Reliable planning and forecasting, in conjunction with the assigned distributors, to contribute to the supply chain performance.

What You Will Need

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline would be preferred
  • Minimum of 12+ years of multi-functional experience including or with proven junior to senior progressed sales experience in the lubricants, associated automotive, chemical business or any other distribution (FMCG) driven industry in the SADC region.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is essential as are, analytical, financial, leadership, communication and inspiring capabilities commensurate with this role.
  • Any additional language speaking proficiency from within the SADC region is an advantage.

  • Proven capability to drive sales results in both B2B and B2C areas with a high level of proven competence and success in distributor performance management and distributor retail sales.
  • Track record of providing innovative sales solutions to business challenges through "value" based differentiation in a "sell through" environment.
  • Coaching skills: capable to influence others out of the reporting line, active listener, capable to provide constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrate capability to take decision with uncertain data.
  • A highly motivated and self-starting individual that is driven by results delivery in an entrepreneurial, fast-changing environment
  • A demonstrated ability to be a team player that can build productive working relationships at all levels within organizations both internally and externally.
  • Excellent negotiation skills that enable business growth through securing opportunities and providing profitable / optimal solutions distributors or internal teams.
  • Hands on, proactive and problem-solving mentality, always looking for process improvements and able to work on different projects at the same time.
