An excellent opportunity has arisen with our client, for an experienced Bridge Engineer to work within a leading company and work on a variety of interesting projects.
*Analyse engineering problems, apply technical expertise and engineering judgment and produce innovative solutions to meet legal and management objectives.
*Lead on contract performance, reporting and quality requirements
*To provide professional and technical excellence in highway engineering
*Act as a key member of the team, ensuring projects are delivered to the timescales, quality and costs agreed with the client.
*Ensure effective asset management techniques are used to schedule, optimise and monitor the capture and delivery of data from inspections, surveys and other sources to ensure compliance with legislation and codes of practice.
*To assist the Team Leader in managing external resources used by the Highways Team.
*Supervise, train and motivate a project team so that resources are effectively utilized and targets achieved to ensure that the client meets its legal and service obligations.
*Attend to customer queries regarding road maintenance and repair.
*Work experience in highway maintenance and/or design.
*Experience in contract supervision and administration
*Knowledge of ICE and ECC contracts and their applications.
*Knowledge of highways, health & safety and traffic management legislation and codes of practice
*A good understanding of pavement construction, failure modes, and repair treatment options.
*Experience of using an integrated asset management system.
*Highly computer literate - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
*Accomplished writing and data analysis skills
