An excellent opportunity to work as a Bridge Engineer in the West Midlands area
About the Role We have had a very successful year during which we won more than £1bn of work. Our order book at the end of the year stood at £1.7bn and, since then, we have secured an additional £300m of new contracts in the UK, Australia and the Middle East. We are now seeking to recruit an Engineer (Structures) to join our team to work on the delivery of important highway engineering projects for a variety of UK and overseas clients As an Engineer working in a busy design office you will be expected to undertake the following duties 1. Undertake services within an engineering environment which may include (but not limited to); scheme investigation, site and structure inspections, data collection and analysis, works/construction inspection and supervision to progress scheme design, development and construction. 2. Prepare technical designs in accordance with approved design procedures. 3. Prepare technical documents and drawings for checking and approvals. 4. Exercise independent engineering judgement and provide innovative solutions to engineering problems. 5. Manage delivery of small projects or a small programme of work with minimal supervision. 6. Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Welfare and CDM responsibilities and of other company procedures. 7. Be a proactive and collaborative team member. 8. Contributing to technical excellence and innovation across the team. 9. Agree delivery targets with senior staff and report regularly on progress towards milestones. 10. Take responsibility for own personal development with the support of line manager and following an agreed development plan 11. Assist in the development of others. QUALIFICATIONS * A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. * Working towards a chartered / incorporated status (or equivalent) of a relevant professional institution. * Or demonstrable experience. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE * Have a working knowledge and experience in highways bridges and structures. * Have a working knowledge and experience of the main management systems & processes used within Mouchel or a similar consultancy business. * Experience and a working knowledge of relevant design software and standards. * Fluent spoken and written English. * IT literate * Able to work under own initiative and to seek advice when necessary, you will have the drive and determination to meet targets.
