Introduction

Two exciting long term contract opportunities have arisen to join a leading Automotive tier 1 to work as a Resident Engineer with a prestigious OEM. Experience of CAN Networks, Software exposure and Automotive experience essential.

The Job

Experience Required

 

Competencies-

  • Experience of the Automotive industry (minimum 1 year relevant Automotive experience required)
  • Experience in CAN networks and taking CAN traces
  • Experience of working in tight schedule and pressure
  • Experience in JLR system and tools will be a plus (e.g. team center and WERS tools)Specialised Knowledge-
  •  
  • Engineering/Science degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering is required
  • Microsoft office, SW tools for basic debugging (Linux skills are preferable.)
  • Programming language(C/C++), UML
  • Professional writing and reporting skills in English, Great communication skills
  • Fluent in English

 

Key functions:

To Define-

  • What to do for data logging and module update based on given instruction
  • What level of technical dicussion/implementation to be handled locally
  • How to communicate with development team in an efficient way
  • When to work in the office and when to work in the field by referencing program timingTo Decide-
  •  
  • What information to be provided to the development team and what to be handled on site
  • When the issues/customer's feedback to be escalatedTo Do-
  •  
  • Frequent communications with a customer to build up strong relationship
  • Good communications with developers and a program manager
  • Proactively supporting engineers and a program manager
  • Understanding requirements and SW/HW architecture of telematics design
  • Vehicle and module diagnostics
  • Software reflashing, Issue troubleshooting, Build support
  • Initial issue analysis and proper documentation work
  • Field testing support
