Graduate Transport Planner
Our client are an up an coming consultancy who provide a variety of diverse project opportunities.
The company have had another successful year and wish to expand due to order book. Some of their clients include: MACE, MIra, Primark, Persimmon, Kier.
They are looking for an exemplary Graduate to join their team in Guildford as part of the Transport Planning team.
If you have graduate in either of the following fields Geography/Transport Planning/Planning/Human Geography/Civil Engineering this could be an ideal role for you.
Responsibilities and Duties:
*To support Group leaders in the delivery of comprehensive advice to clients on Highways & Transport matters from preliminary advice / feasibility work, undertaking site appraisals / visits and designing surveys through to providing input to written reports and presentational material;
*To ensure that all assigned tasks / jobs are delivered on-time and to budget;
*To keep an up-to-date record of assigned tasks / jobs, maintain regular daily contact with Group leaders and Directors with a clear indication on where there is scope / flex to assist;
*Ensuring that all electronic and paper files on projects they are responsible for are kept up-to-date, that drawings and hardcopies of reports are properly filed and that purchase orders are up-to-date and in order;
*Ensuring that expense claims are submitted within the same calendar month and are properly registered on the Xero system;
*Assisting in the upkeep of the area within which they work, that machines / printers are turned off daily, that files are returned to cabinets (at the end of the week, as a minimum) and that they general area is kept tidy;
*To implement company-wide protocols for drawing and report issue, making sure that reports, drawings are appropriately formatted, signed and that naming and numbering conventions for files, reports, drawings are followed, liaising with senior colleagues and Group leaders where any clarification is required;
*Building up of knowledge & skills base, identifying and reporting this back to Group leaders and Directors, where appropriate, any areas that would benefit from personal skills development;
*To ensure that no abortive work is carried out on projects they are responsible for and to feedback to senior colleagues / Group Leaders expediently in advising client of any extra fees required to address additional items / tasks they have requested beyond the budgeted scope of works;
*Liaising with senior colleagues / Group leaders / Office Manager to ensure that a signed Client Account Form, with all requisite details, is completed before commencing with client instruction;
*Ensure that any services commissioned from sub-contracting companies (e.g. surveys) are completed within our programme of works and within our budget limits set, in conjunction with Group leaders.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor Degree qualified,
TRICS, Arcady, Picady, Linsig a bonus.
Full UK Driving
