My client, a leading engineering company, are recruiting for a Controls Systems PLC/SCADA Software Engineer to join their busy team in New Malden to work on Marine Defence projects.

The Job

This role will be predominantly office based and will allow you to work on varied and innovative projects using the latest industrial controls technology to design platform management systems to specific customer requirements.

For this role we're looking for a PLC/SCADA Engineer for a major change to an existing Marine Platform Management System. Working within the Control Systems Group in our Engineering Department you will:

* Modify FactoryTalk View and WinCC OA SCADA software and Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC code

* Produce detailed technical documentation

* Work flexibly within a team environment, as well as independently

* Be aware of and comply with Company Standards of Conduct and all relevant statutory requirements

* Primarily a desk based role but travel to customer sites in the UK when required

* Be a self-starter to execute a variety of project functions efficiently and professionally

Required Skills & Experience:

- Experienced in Control Systems HCI development

- Have an appreciation of PLC based hardware

- Work to a defined design process

- Have Strong IT skills (Networks, domains, OS, virtualisation)

- Produce detailed Technical Documentation to a high standard

- Have a Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic engineering or a related discipline e.g. Control Engineering or Systems Engineering

Desirable Skills & Experience:

- Industrial Control Systems, PLC, SCADA or Marine Defence background

- Ship's Machinery Control experience

- Test Specification Development and Execution within complex PLC based systems

- Good Communication and Presentation Skills

- Experienced in the use of MS Access, Excel, Word, Visio

- £40K-£50K depending on experience

Who are we looking for?

We are keen to hear from candidates with a range of controls systems design experience across PLC, SCADA Systems and HMI - any systems knowledge will be considered.

Design experience is key and you must be able to demonstrate software skills and ability to write programmes from scratch.
