The Job

Reporting to the SHE Manager, this Group role is based at our Chichester site. The role involves working with the SHE Advisor North to quantify the Group SHE requirements for the business, benchmark the sites against those requirements, and facilitate sites to achieve an outstanding safe healthy and environment focused culture and workplace.

Under the guidance of the Group SHE Manager, the SHE Advisors will be working closely with other teams at all sites. The SHE Advisor South will primarily work in Chichester, Isle of Wight and Kent, also understand the needs of the whole Group. The ideal candidate will be commercially aware and be able to use an adaptive tailored approach to the varying requirements of each site team in order to facilitate the achievement of common standards targets and goals.

In this role you will provide support advice and guidance on SHE matters to all colleagues. You will also be liaising with contractors and partner businesses. You will have a keen eye for detail and ensure all records are accurate and auditable. You will guide or lead audits, surveys and inspections. You will be working with, and acting as administrators of state of the art information systems. You will provide health & safety training, provide support on investigations and guide proactive assessment of risk. You will assist on innovative development projects and expansion. As a SHE professional you will be given the opportunity and be expected to maintain a high level of personal development. Above all this is a key and critical role in the achievement of the Group's current and future SHE policy and strategy.

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate and possess the following:

  • They will need to demonstrate good I.T. Skills including database systems.
  • NEBOSH General Certificates in Environment, Occupational Safety and Health or their equivalents. and ideally have or already be working towards NEBOSH Diplomas, or equivalents in one if not both disciplines.
  • Training and Audit qualifications are an advantage
  • Ideally previous experience will include working within food manufacturing, although other factory and manufacturing or military experience will be considered.
