Green Belt Trained

The Job

Tasks include:

  • Coach Plant specialists (including Green and Black Belts) and problem solvers responsible for the use and further development of quality methods or Six Sigma / Design For Six Sigma (DFSS).
  • Lead and support cross-departmental teams to find solutions to the key topics, including suppliers and external representatives as required.
  • Responsible for the timely implementation of the actions defined in the project brief.
  • Report to the steering group and escalate if necessary.
  • Advise and train the responsible person on a quality method approach to problem solving.
  • Based on practical experience, develop quality methods and training concept specifically for the Plant.
  • Develop and maintain Group-wide and possible external networks for Q-methods (Six Sigma / DFSS)

Responsible for the optimal use of quality methods in troubleshooting and prevention of product issues.

Specialist for quality methods and centre of competence within the Plant.

Derive targets from task description (projects, schedule) and initiate measures (e.g. analysis, measurements) to achieve them.

Define and agree on targets with directors, managers and project team members.

Responsible for the optimal use of quality methods either by advising or leading.

Responsible for personal contribution for the improvement of results of the Plant.

Responsible for the content and improvement of methods until released from the project or task.

Represent quality methods as a centre of competence internally and externally within the scope of the task.

Represent the Plant in cross-Plant or external circles.

Maintain internal and external network to constantly develop methods.

Develop the Six Sigma / Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) philosophy and adapt for the Plant.

Monitor quality methods / Six Sigma / DFSS in the market / competition and identify implications for the Plant.

Train the departments / disciplines with the acquired knowledge.

Quality authority in Task-Forces and problem solving teams

Advise, coach and train problem solvers and Plant specialists.

Lead and support cross-departmental teams.

Train departments / disciplines in new quality methods.

Report / escalate to steering group.

Define and agree targets with directors, managers and project team members.

Represent the Plant in cross-Plant or external circles.

Educational Background

  • Ideally qualified to NVQ Level 5 or equivalent (e.g. Degree, Membership of Chartered Institution) in an engineering and / or business strategy related field.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Minimum of 5 successfully conducted Six Sigma or equivalent projects to improve quality.
  • Understanding of processes across E, T and B/U.
  • Good knowledge of quality management systems.
  • High independence, motivation and technical leadership ability.
  • High technical expertise (quality methods, statistical methods).
  • High social competence and ability to convince, negotiating skills, assertive and convincing appearance.
  • Strong enthusiasm, good ability to integrate and high moderation skills in a cross-departmental team.
  • Strong analytical ability to define the right target achievement steps.
  • Committed, flexible and willingness to travel.
  • Fluent in English.
  • High level of IT literacy.
  • Valid UK driving license
