Our client, one of the UK's leading Aerospace organisations, are currently looking for experienced Aircraft Fitters (Mechanical or Electrical/Avionics) to join them on contract based out of their site in Yeovil.


Time Served (or Ex-Forces) Aircraft Fitter - Mechanical or Electrical/Avionics

The Job

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Previous experience within an aircraft engineering environment essential.
  • Experience working on the build/maintenace of rotary wing aiorcraft is preferred however fixed wing/fast jet experiencve will also be considered.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and parts lists.
  • Good working knowledge of IT and aviation software packages.
  • Working knowledge of technical safety procedures.


  • Double Day Shift: Earlies: 06:00-14:00 (Mon-Thu); 06:00-12:00 (Fri) | Lates: 14:00-22:00 (Mon-Thu); 12:00-18:00 (Fri)
  • Potential of upto 60 hours per week available with weekend working.

PAYE, Umbrella or LTD contracts available with paid overtime/shift allowance (rotational earlies & lates). Full break down of rates below:




Core Days




Shift (Earlies/Lates)




Standard Overtime (Mon-Fri & 0-5 Hours Weekend)




Weekend Overtime (+5 Hours)




All candidates must be able to demonstrate that they have completed an Indentured or Modern Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 and an academic certificate (i.e. BTEC, C&G, HNC/HND, ONC/OND at any level).

Alternatively we can consider those who are ex-Forces that don't hold the above qualifications as long as they demonstrate that they left at a certain rank or above. Rank would depend on whether Navy, Army, RAF or Marines.
