Cable Route Engineer
Our client is currently seeking a Cable Route Engineer who has a background in surveying or any other Earth Science to join their established team.
The successful candidate will be working on all aspects of Cable Route Engineering for submarine cable systems including the compilation of cable route study reports, performing site-visits, threat & risk evaluations, cable routing and protection selection, overseeing marine survey activities, quality control of reported deliverables, liaising with sub-contractors and customers.
The role will be mainly office based with responsibility for all aspects of cable route studies (desk top studies, site visits), database compilation and chart production using ESRI ARCGIS software. You will be responsible for carrying out cable route engineering using Makai Plan to generate Route Position Lists (RPLs) and Straight-Line Diagrams (SLDs) for cable manufacture and installation.
You will also be responsible for reviewing and quality control of the marine survey reports delivered to our client and prior to customer delivery. There will be the opportunity for offshore work and worldwide travel (site visits, customer meetings) within each project lifecycle.
You will be degree qualified individual ideally with qualifications in Surveying or a related Earth Sciences subject. Ideally you will have a working knowledge of ESRI ARCGIS suite or other GIS packages. You will have the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally to suppliers and customers, capable of delivering presentations in a confident and professional manner.
