Through process expertise, the PSP enables the Production Teams to maintain standard operations and look for continuous improvement opportunities.
The PSP is responsible for the review and optimisation of the existing production system (series) through structured application of the VPS principals. Close interaction with UR-T-1P is required to ensure that the latest VPS methods are implemented and employed. Uses best practice solutions and systems, Plaza, VPS principles, networking to seek continuous improvement opportunities Develops best practice and acts as the liaison between the logistics functions and the assembly team at point of fit. Provide ideas and suggestions to the logistics and planning processes for new model introduction. As a result, the PSP is the focal point for associate training and the development of the production team. During any activity or project, it is expected that the PSP considers all KPI's and ZMS targets and ensures that there is a measurable and positive impact on these. The key focus for a PSP is effective and efficient lineside layouts, processes, equipment and information flow with minimal NVA in support of the Process Leader in Shell II of the Work Organisation. A PSP is expected to manage their problem landscape and appoint their resources accordingly. Additionally the PSP actively participates in the PEP stages by applying our knowledge and experience from series, therefore helping to ensure that robust, improved and best practice processes are established for new product introductions.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideally, the candidates should be qualified to HNC level in Production / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent. Alternatively, the candidates will be required to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role. Basic knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning. Experience in FMEA and Process Instruction. Basic knowledge in Machine capability and Gauge Studies. Possesses analytical and data interrogation skills. Structure Problem solver. High Level of operational flexibility. Varied knowledge of Manufacturing processes and technologies. Fluent English is essential. Ability in German would be beneficial. Knowledge of OEM Network and quality systems would be beneficial. Minimum 5 years relevant experience within automotive industry. (Vehicle Assembly and/or component manufacture)
