Service Delivery Managers/Operations Managers
DE&S are currently looking to fill 32 permanent roles for Service Delivery/ Operations Managers across the business, based out of Bristol.
In this role you will support the delivery of the service in accordance with customer agreements by using demand, supply and project management skills and techniques.
You will engage and support a diverse range of stakeholders and create rapport and buy-in to drive and to deliver outcomes in a way that identifies risks and recommends clear, viable mitigating actions. Your approach will be to listen, to understand and to respect the value of different views, ideas and ways of working, to make ongoing improvements to delivery while bringing your stakeholders on the journey with you.
You will need to be a self-starter with a proactive and continuous improvement mindset. Supporting teams, you will be expected to learn from experience and to encourage a culture of imaginative thinking, to challenge the status quo and to continually drive for improved quality.
No two days will be quite the same; one may find you supporting a rolling, regular review of the requirements and Delivery plans that you have developed to ensure that delivery is on track. Another may involve meeting with your suppliers regarding specific issues and developing bespoke but scalable solutions that minimize service or capability downtime and control the costs associated with the support.
You will be expected to interpret management information and to translate aims into clear manageable plans identifying resource requirements to support implementation and facilitating flexible use of resources across the organisation.
In cases where the delivery is not to the required quality, cost or timescales you will need to identify the issues and take appropriate action. This will require you having great customer, supplier and contract management skills along with the ability to support teams made up of many disciplines, making sure that everyone is working and communicating with each other to deliver your clear plan of action.
This is a complex, and ever-evolving role for which you will receive training to further improve your Operations Management knowledge and skills and development opportunities to help you to progress further within DE&S.
Only Candidates demonstrating the following within their CV will be considered:
- Demonstrable experience of working within at least one of the following fields: Operations Management, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance/Accounting, Through Life Support, or Commercial
- Some supervisory experience of managing a small team through a change that you developed and where you can demonstrate improved the delivery of an output that was valuable to the customer, and to the company that you worked for.
Please note that a number of the roles available may require you to be a Sole UK National and there may be a requirement to attain developed vetting (DV) clearance, which could be during our pre-employment checks, or whilst in post.
