Our busy client is currently recruiting for a Structures / Bridge Engineer to join their Structures Team in their Design Services Division.


Bridge Design experience for maintenance and improvement works

The Job

Reporting to the Structures Design Manager, your main responsibility will be to prepare designs and reports for maintenance and improvement schemes, additionally, the Client may request that you also carry out structures scheme identification and study work.

Key Responsibilities:

Management and supervision of Design and Project workloads

Detailed design of maintenance and improvement schemes - Scheme Development Stage 2 (Design and management)

Cost and budget control including preparation and reporting of cost estimates and scheme Target Sums

Preparation of reports, drawings, specifications and contract documents, including

Scheme Risk Registers

Scheme information documents

As-built drawings and post completion reviews

Compliance with Highways England and ASC QSE processes, procedures and reporting requirements

Compliance with Highways England performance requirements

Liaison with Highways England team members and other stakeholders

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Degree (or equivalent) in structural or civil engineering

Membership of a relevant professional institution at CEng (preferable) or IEng of ICE or IStructE


Driving licence desirable

Experience and ability in carrying out structural inspections, studies, scheme identification, assessment and design work
