Project & Performance Manager
Our client, a local authority in Suffolk are looking for an interim Project & Performance Manager on an interim basis for an initial 6 month contract. For more information, please call Adam Good @ Matchtech on 01489 898881.
The role will be to deliver corporate projects with an emphasis on delivering IT solutions to new areas of the business and improvements to the existing sustem in the repairs and voids service.
Performance & Projects Manager
The Maintenance & Contracts service spends circa. £21 million annually (of which £17m is controllable expenditure) repairing and improving a retained housing stock of circa 8000 properties and 15 sheltered schemes to our local "Ipswich Standard". The Council takes a holistic approach to stock management and has one seamless service that is now responsible for everything in connection with the asset management of that stock; from initial design to completing works on site on a right first time basis using our own directly employed trade teams and external contractors.
The Performance and Projects Manager will provide capacity to the service and work alongside the senior management team. You will specifically focus on delivering some major key 'one-off' projects, implementing robust project management governance for all major projects, carrying out performance reviews or assisting other managers with their projects. You will not be required to manage any staff or contractors. The post will report and work closely with the Operations Manager.
The role will require that you have excellent project management and IT skills and be familiar with the Council's procurement and governance processes including contract standing orders.
You will play a critical role in the Maintenance and Contracts team delivering its operational objectives and major capital initiatives that will make a difference to the councils housing tenants.
Day to day
Handling your own time flexibly and effectively to manage your projects you will be based at the council offices.
You will work across the whole spectrum of Maintenance and Contracts activities.
You will have either a degree level education or similar level of technical and organisational knowledge in a project management or business planning field. You must have evidence of continued professional development and experience of working at a senior management level. You will have a working knowledge and awareness of local government issues, legislation and procedures and experience of successfully managing projects. You will also need to evidence experience of developing performance and project management processes and effective communication skills.
