Digital Electronics Engineer - FPGA, SDR (Software Defined Radio), DSP. Developing innovative scientific instrumentation for spectroscopy.



The Job

You will be working with an exciting, research orientated startup who are moving into the production phase for their completely novel, patented line of laser based spectroscopy equipment. This is an exciting time for the company with an imminent product launch, new projects getting underway and growth on the horizon.

We are looking for an experienced digital electronics engineer with excellent experience of FPGA Development with VHDL/Verilog, Software Defined Radio (SDR) and DSP. The Product is built around ultra-high speed low noise data acquisition, high speed DSP & digital filtering so experience in these areas would be highly desirable.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to work with some of the best minds in the business in a role which has been designated for progression. You will take a prominent role in the company, working closely with Scientists and PHDs to develop world first technologies for use in precision sensing.

Key Skills:

Digital Electronics Design, ideally including knowledge of analogue and digital electronic design and PCB layout

FPGA Development with VHDL/Verilog

Software Defined Radio (SDR)


Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of Vivado coupled with on-board processors

Knowledge and experience of Xilinx and Altera FPGAs, including SoC devices

Experience with optical and opto-electronics components, especially in RF domain would also be advantageous

Good working knowledge of ARM Cortex microprocessors, TCL, PYTHON, analogue electronics, PYNQ.
