Team Leader (MOD)
Last year my client was awarded the MOD Boats Contract to support RM TAMAR craft until 2025.
The delivery & coordination of this contract requires skilled individuals to deliver the contract.
As the team leader your key tasks will be varied but will primarily be focused around day to day management and coordinating the refit and repairs to Operational Defective front-line Royal Marine Craft.
Craft will include the Landing Craft Air Cushioned (LCAC) Hovercraft, Off-Shore Raiding Craft (ORC) and Pacific 24 variant of which you will be responsible for the timely refit and return of the craft to the End User (RM TAMAR) under the direction of the Authority.
An additional part to the role is the identification and coordination of spares for the different craft and transportation to from each location.
The role will require short notice deployment to Devonport which will require you to be away from home with a deployed team for short periods of time.
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Act as the MOD Team Leader for all GHL staff working under/for the MOD BISS Contract.
Adhere to our client's H&S Policy ensuring all employees under your authority adhere to the policy at all times.
Provide and deliver H&S Training and Tool Box Talks Locally as required.
Produce and coordinate all MOD Operational Risk Assessments.
Coordinate the swift and efficient delivery of the MOD BISS Contract for all platforms from both Authority (CSS Boats) and End User (RM TAMAR).
Lead for all Spares Procurement in support of the MOD BISS Contract.
Coordinate all manpower requirements with the Production Manager.
QA all emergent and tariff work by staff.
Coordinate all transport requirements for all platforms.
Attend RM TAMAR at short notice for OPDEF and routine works.t.
Receipt all WRFs from both Authority and End User, producing completed aspects of WRF 2010B (Tariff and Emergent Works) back to the authority for approval.
Provide maintenance and maintain all SWL equipment and lifting beams to ensure they are serviceable and in date (With valid Certs) for use.
Maintain Powerboat 2 Commercially Endorsed Ticket/Licence, FLT and Over Head Gantry Licences.
Coordinate all COSHH Items ensuring correct storage and HDS are available at all times
Attend Logs Dept Weekly Team Leaders and MOD KPI Progression Meetings
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in a similar role within a boat refurbishment environment
Fully qualified shipwright boat builder (NVQ Qualification preferred)
Fully qualified Powerboat Level 2 Commercially Endorsed (Training will be provided as required).
Ability to operate autonomously in remote locations
Attention to detail
Strong decision maker
Ability to plan and work to tight deadlines
Ability to build and maintain relationships
Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
Excellent inter-personal skills
Excellent communication skills
Previous managerial experience
Full UK Driving Licence
Qualified Overhead Gantry Crane Operator (Training will be provided as required).
Forklift Truck operators Qualification (Training will be provided as required).
Previous MOD experience
£34,320 with the potential to earn a bonus based upon the commercial performance of the contract
