We have a great opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager to join our clients business in Southampton. Our client design and manufacture a range of process equipment.

The Job

As the Quality Manager, you will support and develop the integrated management system, whilst ensuring targets, objectives and KPIs are monitored, managed and communicated to the management team.

What you will be doing…

  • Responsible for the development, management, maintenance and continued certification of the quality management system
  • Drive, support and participate in the continual improvement programme
  • Own and drive the internal audit schedule by conducting audits in departments across the business
  • Host audit visits from Customers and certification bodies, and support visits and audits of suppliers
  • Coordinate, prioritise and manage the daily activities of the inspection team
  • Produce monthly management reports and KPIs
  • Manage any Customer issues through the Company system, ensuring root causes are identified and addressed
  • Provide the project supply chain with monthly quality related data on suppliers or as requested
  • Review and approve supplier corrective action reports
  • Manage the Company system and ensure all issues are addressed and closed within the specified time
  • Work with the project supply chain to arrange inspections of fabricated parts at the suppliers premises where required
  • Act as signatory authority for product release
  • Communicate changes within the QMS across the business
  • Work with the project supply chain in qualifying suppliers
  • Contribute at management review meetings
  • Champion Safety Culture objectives
  • Provide Quality Support - Facility Management Teams
  • Implementation of UK Management Systems
  • Delivery of Quality related training
  • Implementation of policies and procedures
  • Provide Monthly KPI and associated risk management reports
  • Identify areas for Quality improvement and develop implementation plans
  • Communicate significant changes to ensure compliance

What we are looking for…

  • Lead Auditor (ISO9001) - ideally with qualifications or history of working to the ISO standard
  • Quality Assurance Management - ideally with qualifications
  • Experience of working in the mechanical engineering / manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the implementation of Quality management systems across multiskilled disciplines - ISO
  • Experience in the development and delivery of Quality training
  • Proven track-record to plan and organize daily / weekly activities to ensure priorities and objectives are achieved
  • Self-confident and assertive
  • Excellent communication skills, effective in written and oral form (English)
  • Information technology skills, competent skills in the use of Microsoft Office programs (maybe asked to demonstrate)
  • Excellent communication skills
