Project Manager Engineering & Construction
Southern Water are looking for 3 Project Managers to join their team on a permanent basis, based in the offices at Falmer, Brighton.
Salary range: £42,400 - £49, 882 depending upon experience
Work Location/Base of Work: Falmer, East Sussex
Working Hours: 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Southern Water provide services to more than 4.6 million customers across Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. We are currently recruiting a number of experienced Project Managers for our Wastewater Project Delivery Team. We have a number of PM roles available for Above Ground and Below Ground projects, managing tranches from inception to completion, in order to achieve regulatory outputs, capital maintenance and growth-enhancement for Southern Water.
The ideal candidates will be qualified and experienced individuals and strong team players with the ability to think strategically and work at pace with a high degree of autonomy. Liaising closely with all internal and external stakeholders your roles will be to drive progress on a number of high profile projects under the new Asset Lifecycle Process. You will play an essential role in ensuring delivery projects to time, cost, quality, H&S and customer satisfaction.
Scope of the role:
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of tranches of projects up to £50m (across the 5 year AMP cycle), and the matrix management of multidisciplinary delivery teams within the wastewater portfolio. You'll be accountable for forecasting, programme updates, risk management, contract administration, change management and monthly reporting of projects within your control.
You'll also work with the Senior Project Managers to provide clarity of delivery timescales and simplify programme complexities to allow the business to make informed decisions on investment to reduce business risk.
The successful candidates will have the following Qualifications/Skills:
Relevant experience working in the municipal wastewater industry
At least 3 years experience as a Project Manager
Demonstration of managing projects influenced by environmental and ecological constraints
Extensive experience in both internal and external stakeholder engagement
Degree qualified in a Science, Engineering or Management subject (or equivalent experience)
A member of an appropriate professional institute (Chartered or working towards)
NEC: ECC Project Manager Accreditation
APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or working towards
Strong communication skills both written & verbal. Highly organised and able to multi-task with Proven financial awareness and forecasting experience.
Southern Water utilises a number of Business Information Systems such as; CEMAR, Business Collaborator, Project Insight Manager, Business Application Suite etc, so it would be advantageous for candidates to be proficient in the use of such systems.
