We are looking to recruit a Control and SCADA Engineer to maintain and upgrade software for a major railway in London. AIS are responsible for the maintenance of the tunnel ventilation system using PLC and SCADA technology.

This position is a fantastic opportunity to support a major contract and benefit from the experience of providing services to a new, prestigious part of the UK railway network.

You will be based in our clients London Office and play a key role in the Company's automation business.

DUTIES Routine and preventative maintenance of the SCADA/PLC system and associated infrastructure Implementation of future software and system upgrades and updates Routine site visits and reactive maintenance including call outs, fault diagnosis etc - this will involve out of hours working on a rota basis and for certain routine maintenance tasks which can on be performed when the railway is not running

Ensuring compliance with the SHEQ systems and contributing to the development and continuous improvement of the system Managing the time budget and providing the information required for billing and management of work in progress You will proactively engage with all members of the Team to support a continuous improvement program for the SCADA/PLC system and the service provided for the customer.

To work on a broad range of national infrastructure projects across airports, road & rail tunnels and ports as well as smaller, niche projects

THE COMPANY Our client design, develop and deliver specialist control and monitoring systems, for a wide range of applications for large scale infrastructure projects such as tunnel and traffic automation systems and building automation.

The Company has a strategic relationship with Siemens and designs and delivers automation systems based mainly on Siemens PLC products.

ABOUT YOU

Desired Qualifications & Skills: An HNC / HND or degree in a Computer Science, IT or Engineering discipline. Ideally with a minimum of 2-3 years' work experience Experience with SCADA/PLC & HMI based automation systems, previous maintenance or commissioning experience preferred Experience with industrial networks Experience with reading scripts, either structured text within PLCs or another modern programming language Good Windows and IT skills, routine maintenance will also be required on servers etc

Person: Experienced in working as part of a small cross functional team Demonstrate effective troubleshooting skills in order to liaise with software engineers to assist with testing and fault finding Demonstrate professional and personal credibility and the ability to build strong working relationships with clients and other contractors Excellent customer service and communication skills Self-supervising within the guidance and expectations of management Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision when required
