Matchtech is recruiting for time served Platers for Submarine projects in Barrow-In -Furness.

The Job

Steelworker - 6 month contract - Barrow-In-Furness - £22.51 PAYE and Umbrella £26.78 ph. - Inside IR35

Please be aware that the Umbrella rate is subject to deductions including tax and national insurance. These rates are non-local rates for individuals living outside 39 miles of Barrow. Local roles and rates available please contact us to discuss.

Clearance Requirements & Eligibility


This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working on site. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. In addition, this role involves direct access to ITAR Material. Therefore we can only consider British Nationals for this role and cannot consider those who hold a Dual Nationality. The Role

The role entails working as a Steelworker on Nuclear Submarines. Must be a timed served Steelworker, Plater, Fabricator or Shipwright. Must have the ability to fabricate from drawings to the required tolerances and be familiar with the use of certain pneumatic tools and trade relevant equipment. Also have the ability to line off from engineered drawings to the required tolerances. Have knowledge of Dry Survey, marking off, mock-up and wood experience are all desirable.

- Apprenticeship or craftsmanship certificate
