Introduction

We have new and dynamic opportunities for a HR Advisor to join our team in a permanent position and also a 12 month fixed-term appointment, based at Abbey Wood, Bristol, or one of our Defence Munition sites in Gosport, Kineton or Beith.

The Job

As our HR Advisor, you will provide trusted, timely and effective HR support, services and advice for one-or-more of our business areas. You will be a key member of the HR Business Partner Team and will act as HR Advisor to remote DE&S sites. This could include delivering learning and development interventions on site with working groups or forums face-to-face. You will demonstrate and enhance your ability to understand and identify problems and provide solutions, as well as implement interventions in line with the wider DE&S business.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop your career and be involved in increasing the service offering that the HR team are making, and be a significant part in sharing best practice relating to continuous improvement across different DE&S sites.

Responsibilities

As HR Advisor your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering and supporting on HR priorities within the business areas, including the delivery of learning and development interventions to meet the business needs in group forums
- Responding to enquiries providing trusted guidance and advice in accordance with policy and process, providing a high level of customer service
- Managing staff, where required; advising, coaching and developing HR Assistants
- Supporting compliance with HR/People policies, as required, ensuring robust configuration management
- Working in collaboration with the business, ensuring alignment on objectives and delivery of plans
- Supporting in the production of management information, undertaking analysis to drive delivery improvement within teams through identification of suitable interventions

Due to the location of sites, the ability to travel on a regular basis throughout the UK is a requirement. Undertaking this travel via your own means of transport would be beneficial.

What you will be assessed against

To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:

* Intermediate (Level 5) HR qualifications or equivalent experience
* Experience in application of employment law

In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competencies and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
