Job description
Our client is looking for a Highways Maintenance Engineer to lead their highway maintenance projects. This is an exciting contract opportunity to work on crucial footway and carriageway schemes within the London Borough.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing maintenance operations for highway infrastructure, including footways and carriageways
- Planning and managing maintenance schedules and activities
- Ensuring all projects meet regulatory and safety standards
- Co-ordinating with internal teams and external contractors to ensure project efficiency
- Conducting site inspections and assessments
- Preparing detailed reports and documentation for maintenance activities
- Providing technical guidance and support to the maintenance team
- Liaising with stakeholders and addressing their concerns and requirements
Job Requirements:
- Experience in highway maintenance and management
- Strong knowledge of footway and carriageway maintenance practices
- Ability to plan and execute maintenance schedules effectively
- Proven track record in managing maintenance projects within a regulatory framework
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience
