Matchtech joins EngineeringUK
We are pleased to announce Matchtech’s corporate membership to EngineeringUK.
EngineeringUK is an independent, not-for-profit organisation whose purpose is to promote the vital contribution that engineers, engineering and technology, make to our society.
Keith Lewis, MD of Matchtech said of the corporate membership, “We’re absolutely delighted to become a corporate member of Engineering UK. Their dedication to securing the future of engineering in the UK mirrors what we aim to do from a recruitment perspective.”
The UK Engineering industry is currently flourishing with a variety of current and future projects, however there is work to be done to encourage the next generation into the Engineering industry in order to secure the future of UK engineering. Our first Confidence Index identified that nearly three quarters (74%) of UK engineers do not believe enough is being done by the Government to encourage innovation in the UK, with over two thirds (67%) not confident that the UK will be a world leader in engineering in the future. We are committed to amending this perspective and hope our partnership with EngineeringUK will help us to do so.
Commenting on our corporate membership, John Halton, Director of Business & Industry at EngineeringUK stated, “Our research shows that the UK needs more engineers and what’s needed, if we are to seize the opportunities available, is joined-up action to attract a greater talent pool into engineering. The engineering community is increasingly working as one to make this happen and we’re delighted to welcome Matchtech as a Corporate Member of EngineeringUK, to be part of this.”
The engineering industry is vital to the UK economy and it is important to educate and nurture young, talented engineers in order to secure the industry’s future. To this end, Matchtech has launched an Engineering Showcase to highlight the great talent this country has to offer. The showcase is a gallery which aims to celebrate the outstanding achievements of engineers across all sectors of the industry.
If you know of somebody who has achieved a great deal, or you yourself feel your work deserves to be showcased, we want to hear from you.
